About Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles
The Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles preserves Pennsylvania's transportation history in the former Boyertown Auto Body Works factory, which operated on this site from 1872 to 1990. Visitors tour the main gallery to see Pennsylvania-built vehicles including carriages, wagons, and trucks originally constructed in the building itself. The museum features the famous 1938 Fegely's Diner, a 1921 Sunoco gas station, and a 1920s tourist cabin. On the second floor, the original 1872 Jeremiah Sweinhart Carriage Factory displays a reconstructed blacksmith forge and belt-driven machine shop alongside buggies and wagons. A covered walkway leads to the Carriage Barn, which houses carriages, wagons, sleds, and sleighs. The collection also includes gasoline and electric vehicles, high wheelers, safety bicycles, and vehicle builder's tools. Guided and self-guided tours are available for all ages. The museum is located in Boyertown, Pennsylvania, approximately 35 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
