Nickerson Beach Park features The Dunes, a nine-hole par 3 golf course created amongst the seaside dunes of Lido Beach. This 155-acre beachfront park on Long Island's south shore offers swimming pools, six beach volleyball courts, a skate park, and a dog run with designated areas for small and large dogs. Visitors can reserve picnic areas with barbecue equipment, stay in campgrounds with RV hookups, or rent cabanas for the season. The Fun Zone includes playgrounds and a basketball court. The Dunes golf course ranges from 47 to 105 yards per hole, welcoming golfers of all skill levels. Most holes measure 70 yards or less, set among natural dunes with ocean breezes affecting play. Tee shots use raised boxes with mats and rubber tees, while some holes connect via boardwalks. The park publishes its admission prices online and has operated as part of the Nassau County park system since 1967.
