About LongHouse Reserve

LongHouse Reserve is a 16-acre sculpture garden in East Hampton where visitors explore more than 60 outdoor artworks while walking the grounds designed by textile artist Jack Lenor Larsen. The property features curated plant collections, ornamental borders, and a modernist house inspired by a seventh-century Japanese shrine, all reflecting Larsen's philosophy of living with art. Docent-led public tours run on weekends, and the gardens serve as a quiet space for contemplation of nature and design. The reserve is open Wednesday through Sunday afternoons. Children under 12 enter free, as do active-duty military and veterans. Students with valid ID also receive free entry. Tickets are sold online through longhouse.org, where admission prices and programs are published. The location suits families, artists, garden enthusiasts, and anyone seeking peaceful surroundings combined with contemporary sculpture and international artistic traditions.
