About Louis Armstrong House Museum

Louis Armstrong House Museum preserves the home where the legendary jazz musician and his wife Lucille lived for nearly three decades in Corona, Queens. Visitors take guided tours limited to ten people through rooms where the Armstrongs lived their daily lives, viewing personal photographs, recordings, and everyday belongings that reveal their shared history. The museum's three-building campus includes the historic house, the Louis Armstrong Center, and Selma's Place. At the Louis Armstrong Center, opened in 2023, guests explore the Here to Stay permanent exhibition featuring rare photos, recordings, and personal artifacts that trace Armstrong's life, sound, and cultural impact. The Center also contains a performance venue, museum store, garden, and visitor facilities. Tours begin hourly, and visitors may explore exhibitions before or after their house tour. The museum operates Thursday through Saturday with advance online ticket purchase required. It sits in Corona, the quiet residential neighborhood where Armstrong and his wife chose to build their lives.
