Long Beach Historical Society is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating the culture, society, architecture, and history of Long Beach. Visitors explore the historical museum, housed in a U.S. Department of the Interior National Register property built in 1908. The Society engages the community through a variety of programs throughout the year, including interactive Murder Mystery Plays where audiences participate in solving theatrical mysteries. The museum features the Alpern Archive and presents exhibits focused on local heritage. The architecturally significant building showcases original wood paneling and period details. The organization's motto is "We bring history to the community and the community to history." The museum welcomes visitors interested in experiencing local history firsthand and connecting with Long Beach's cultural legacy through direct engagement with the collections and community programs offered.
