About First Division Museum at Cantigny

The First Division Museum at Cantigny in Wheaton chronicles the history of the 1st Infantry Division, the oldest continuous division in the US Army, from World War I through the Vietnam War. The museum's primary galleries include First in War, which follows the division's campaigns across early conflicts, and Duty First, a thematic gallery covering the division's history from the 1970s to the present day. Visitors can examine exhibits and artifacts spanning from early war to present day. The Tank Park offers an immersive experience with close-up views of classic military machinery undergoing restoration. A special exhibit, Hamilton's 5th Artillery: 250 Years, explores how American artillery evolved over the last 250 years, including the unit's Revolutionary War leadership by Alexander Hamilton. The museum opens Wednesday through Monday and general admission is free.
