Kline Creek Farm is a living history museum in West Chicago where visitors experience life on a working farm in the 1890s. Costumed interpreters use period tools and techniques while performing seasonal farm tasks. The restored farmhouse contains original artifacts and period furnishings; hourly tours cover topics including baking, canning, quilting, and spring cleaning. Visitors encounter heritage livestock including Cotswold sheep, Heritage Milking Shorthorn cattle, and heritage-breed chickens whose eggs are sold on-site. Percheron work horses help plant and harvest crops of corn, oats, and potatoes. Staff tend an heirloom vegetable garden, operate the wagon shed, and manage an apiary where volunteer beekeepers extract and process honey. Depending on the season, visitors may observe ice harvesting from Timber Lake. The Timber Ridge Visitor Center nearby features seasonal exhibits on 1890s life and DuPage County agricultural heritage, along with restrooms and forest preserve information. The farm operates Thursday through Monday with accessible facilities available.
