About Garfield Park Conservatory

Garfield Park Conservatory is one of the largest botanical conservatories in the nation, located on Chicago's West Side. Visitors explore tropical plants, desert blooms, and tree ferns under a geometric glass ceiling, with quiet garden paths and flowing water throughout. The revitalized EMG Children's Garden offers hands-on play and exploration spaces. The Sensory Garden features raised beds and quiet areas for contemplation. The Conservatory hosts seasonal flower shows, workshops, and community events throughout the year. Programs include Beginning Beekeeping and Budding Botanist sessions, alongside the Urban Roots Teen Environmental Justice Program that engages high school students in environmental work. Ticketed entry is required, with advance reservations strongly recommended, though walk-ins are welcome if capacity allows.
