About Navy Pier

Navy Pier is a waterfront destination in Chicago where visitors enjoy rides, performances, dining, and cultural events. Pier Park at the heart of the pier features the Centennial Wheel, a carousel, and seasonal rides alongside open walkways and seating areas overlooking the water and skyline. Polk Bros Park, a 13-acre green space at the pier's entrance, includes landscaped gardens, a signature fountain that becomes an ice rink in winter, and performance stages. The City Stage seats up to 750 guests with skyline views, while the Lake Stage accommodates up to 1,700 people. Throughout the year, Navy Pier presents free cultural programs including live performances, art exhibits, fireworks displays, and lake cruises. The Chicago Children's Museum occupies the pier's south side, offering interactive exhibits for visitors. Restaurants ranging from casual to upscale dining, plus shopping venues, are located throughout the pier. General admission to Navy Pier is free, though tickets for specific attractions and events are sold online.
