About Chicago History Museum
Chicago History Museum connects visitors to the city's past through exhibitions like Aquí en Chicago, which traces Latino communities' presence in Chicago and surrounding suburbs, and Injustice: The Trial for the Murder of Emmett Till, exploring the 1955 murder and its role in sparking the Civil Rights Movement. The Facing Freedom exhibition examines women's suffrage and local school boycotts, while US at 250: Barrett Keithley presents a mural installation about democracy and the Constitution. The museum houses the Abakanowicz Research Center, open Wednesday through Saturday with free admission, and operates the North & Clark Café. A museum store sells Chicago sports gear, jewelry from local designers, historic prints, and CTA merchandise. The museum offers free admission days throughout the year on dates including July 4 and July 15, Illinois residents 18 and under enter free, Chicago residents pay $19 for adult admission instead of $24, EBT and WIC cardholders pay $3, and RAILS members receive $3 off general admission.
