About The Richard H. Driehaus Museum

The Richard H. Driehaus Museum occupies two historic buildings on Chicago's near north side, the 1883 Nickerson Mansion and the adjacent 1926 Murphy building. Visitors explore exhibitions featuring contemporary and historical art, including stained glass galleries and rotating shows. The museum hosts intimate live performances such as concerts by members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The Murphy Auditorium presents dance works and open rehearsals. Guided tours discuss the buildings' architecture, history, and collections. The museum offers public tours available on a first-come basis and private group tours by reservation. Visitors may photograph exhibits for personal use. The museum operates Wednesday through Sunday with extended hours on Wednesday evenings. Children twelve and under receive free admission, as do active military personnel and EBT cardholders.
