The Crockett Historical Museum occupies a former Southern Pacific railroad depot in Crockett, California. Visitors explore displays about the town's history, heavily influenced by the C&H Sugar Refinery's presence since 1906, with exhibits tracing the evolution of sugar products and the sugar industry. The museum features school trophies and photographs celebrating local education, alongside information about area businesses, churches, the Carquinez Bridge, fraternal and social clubs, and military service members. A standout artifact is Joey's Fish, an enormous 468-pound taxidermied sturgeon caught on rod and reel. The museum maintains a complete collection of the Cubelet Press, the C&H house organ published from 1936 to 1992, available for research. Historic newspapers including the Crockett Signal and Crockett American from 1908 onward are also accessible. Many of the original exhibits remain from the museum's opening in 1981, charming visitors with their unique displays and preservation of local heritage.
Hours: 1st and 3rd Wednesdays and Saturdays, 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
