About Alchemy Museum

The Rosicrucian Alchemy Museum in San Jose is the first museum of its kind in the United States, located on the Rosicrucian Park campus. The two-story building houses fifteen rooms including a lecture hall, a twelve-station laboratory, an herb dispensary, and a bookstore. Visitors explore exhibits that introduce alchemy's role in the Rosicrucian tradition, covering its history, influence on the sciences, and applications in mystical teachings and spiritual transformation. The museum sits adjacent to the Rosicrucian Research Library and near the Egyptian Museum. Outside, the Alchemical Herb Garden features four elemental gardens representing Earth, Air, Fire, and Water, each containing corresponding elemental and planetary herbs arranged in alchemical symbols. The garden's center displays the symbol for the Fifth Element, or Quintessence. The museum offers classes in practical and spiritual alchemy, along with workshops exploring alchemical operations. The facility serves visitors interested in understanding alchemy's historical and spiritual dimensions through hands-on learning and study.
