About Artechouse NYC
Artechouse NYC presents Twilight Zone: Hidden Wonders of the Ocean, an immersive exhibition exploring the mysterious bioluminescent realm beneath the waves in collaboration with Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Visitors experience a 24-minute cinematic digital journey complemented by seven interactive installations and six XR activations. The interactive elements include navigating the twilight zone through the eyes of a Mesobot robot, discovering how creatures use bioluminescent displays to communicate and survive through mesmerizing light installations, and exploring an interactive aquarium to investigate bizarre deep-sea creatures up close. Additional installations allow visitors to transform sound into vivid images using sonar technology and apply eDNA analysis to uncover biodiversity at ocean depths. The exhibition blends scientific discovery with digital artistic expression, revealing how the nightly animal migration from deep ocean to surface connects to planetary health.
