About Walt Disney’s Carolwood Barn

Walt Disney's Carolwood Barn is a museum dedicated to preserving Walt Disney's passion for railroading, located in Griffith Park in Los Angeles, California. The barn showcases trains of all scales and displays many of Walt Disney's personal items and tools, including work benches he built himself. Visitors can view an original combine coach from the Santa Fe & Disneyland Railroad, one of the barn's newest additions. The museum also features the depot from animator Ollie Johnston's miniature railroad. The Carolwood Foundation, a nonprofit organization, operates the barn on behalf of the Walt Disney Family Foundation. The attraction opens to the public on the third Sunday of each month, with hours published on the foundation's website. No reservations are required for regular visits, though special events may have different policies. The barn serves as a living showcase of Walt's railroad legacy and appeals to enthusiasts of trains and Disney history alike.
