About The Lawrence Hall of Science

The Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley is a science center where visitors explore hands-on exhibits, meet live animals, and engage in scientific discovery. The Animal Discovery Zone features live animals including a bearded dragon named Melbourne. The Forces that Shape the Bay exhibit allows visitors to design and build structures, bridges, and roller coasters using provided materials, and to engineer boats from recycled materials to test floating and sailing principles. The Making Music: Math and Science Out Loud exhibition combines mathematics and science through sound and musical activities. Summer Science Fundays offer special programming including activities about solar phenomena and physics investigations. Teen Research Programs allow students entering grades seven through twelve to conduct real scientific research in university labs at UC Berkeley, network with faculty and student researchers, and explore STEM career paths.
