About Shedd Aquarium
Shedd Aquarium in Chicago features thousands of aquatic animals across galleries where visitors watch live animal demonstrations, touch tide pool creatures, and explore exhibits like the Kelp Forest, Wild Reef, and Amazon Rising. Daily Animal Chats and Live Programs included with admission let guests hear from caretakers about arapaima, penguins, sharks, belugas, electric eels, and anacondas. The Polar Play Zone offers hands-on interaction with sea stars. Illinois residents receive free admission during select hours throughout the year. Those presenting an EBT card for SNAP benefits receive discounted daily admission, with up to four tickets per order. Active-duty U.S. military personnel and Chicago police officers and firefighters receive free general admission with proper ID. Illinois Gold Star families receive free general admission for all household adults and children. Members of AZA Reciprocal Membership Program partner organizations receive 50% off full-price admission for up to two guests. Tickets are sold online at sheddaquarium.org.
