About Santa Fe Area Historical Foundation

The Santa Fe Area Historical Foundation operates museums documenting the heritage of Santa Fe railway communities including Alta Loma, Arcadia, Algoa, and Hitchcock. Visitors explore extensive Santa Fe High School memorabilia on display throughout the facility. The foundation maintains one of the county's most comprehensive military artifact collections, featuring exhibits on World War II, Camp Wallace, and the Navy Blimp Base, all generously donated by local residents. The museum includes a restored depot building and a Camp Wallace building that serve as exhibition spaces. Guests can view photographs, documents, and artifacts tracing the region's railroad history and community development. The foundation welcomes anyone interested in local history, including students, seniors, current and former military members, families, and local businesses. Located in Santa Fe, Texas, the museum preserves and shares the stories that shaped these communities across generations.
