About Nature Realm Visitor Center

F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm Visitors Center in Akron serves as a central hub for exploring Summit Metro Parks' natural areas. The 10,000-square-foot visitors center houses seasonal exhibits, kids' play areas, and live native animals, with a naturalist on duty to answer questions about nature and wildlife. Outside, visitors encounter a suspension bridge spanning a 45-foot-deep ravine, observation decks overlooking two ponds, wetlands, several gardens, hiking trails, and a tall-grass prairie. Plant identification stations and a hand-feeding experience with chickadees are available on the grounds. The visitors center itself features a stone fireplace, wooden benches on a covered deck, and the Maple Leaf Gifts shop offering nature-focused merchandise. The facility opens Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Dogs are not permitted, as the area is designated for wildlife study and enjoyment.
