The Nature Center at Shaker Lakes connects visitors with eight unique native habitats across two accessible woodland trails in a 20-acre sanctuary. Visitors explore the Stearns Woodland Trail and All Peoples' Trail, which wind through diverse ecosystems. The center hosts bird walks and seasonal programs throughout the year. The facility accommodates birthday parties with themed B'earthday celebrations, renting indoor and outdoor spaces for events. Science programs include bird banding activities, with over one thousand birds banded annually for research purposes. The Nature Center, founded in 1966 to preserve the Shaker Parklands, welcomes over 140,000 yearly visitors and serves more than 13,000 students through educational curriculum. Located minutes from downtown Cleveland in Shaker Heights, the Nature Center offers free general admission to all visitors and features a nature shop, observation areas, and a butterfly garden where guests can observe seasonal wildlife and native plants throughout their visit.
