About Coulby Park

Coulby Park in Wickliffe spans the grounds of the former Coulallenby estate, built by shipping magnate Harry Coulby between 1911 and 1915. The City of Wickliffe purchased the property in 1954, and it now operates as a public park with trails, playgrounds, sports facilities and a pond. Visitors can swim at the Coulby Aquatic Center, play on the kiddy playground or creative play area, fish in the pond under catch-and-release rules, and use the lighted tennis courts and tennis wall. The park contains four tennis courts, two lighted basketball courts, a Class A ball field, little league field and softball field, plus sand volleyball and ga-ga court. Two bocce courts meet ADA accessibility standards. Two reservable pavilions sit near the pond and pool, and a gazebo provides additional gathering space. A bridge crosses the pond, and park benches with swings offer rest areas. The original mansion remains in use as city hall, while the former gatehouse now houses Wickliffe Police headquarters.
