The Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum honors the session musicians, engineers, and producers who played on the greatest recordings of all time. Visitors explore exhibits featuring instruments and memorabilia from across all music genres, including guitars played by Jimi Hendrix, James Jamerson's Fender P-Bass, and instruments used by Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, and Elton John. The museum showcases the American Sound Studio, where Elvis Presley recorded "Suspicious Minds" and "In the Ghetto," along with guitars from Glen Campbell's nationally broadcast television show. Exhibits tell the stories of well-known inductees like Chet Atkins and Charlie Daniels, as well as behind-the-scenes stars including the Nashville A-Team, the Wrecking Crew, and the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section. The museum also features the interactive Grammy Museum Gallery. A self-guided tour typically takes one and a half to two hours. The museum is located on the first floor of the Historic Nashville Municipal Auditorium in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, and operates Monday through Saturday.
