About Mount Wilson Observatory Museum

Mount Wilson Observatory Astronomical Museum presents historic photographs, documents, and exhibits documenting a century of scientific achievement at the Observatory. Visitors explore the exhibition room to view historical photographs taken by Mount Wilson telescopes alongside photographic and documentary histories of the Observatory. The museum features a glass-covered diorama displaying a miniature model of Mount Wilson Observatory, complete with domed telescope buildings, pathways, and vegetation. A 256-seat auditorium adjoins the exhibit area and hosts the Talks & Telescopes lecture series as well as Matinees on the Mountain film screenings. The museum traces vignettes of current research programs alongside its historical collections.
