About Miami Springs Historical Society

The Miami Springs Historical Society Museum preserves the story of one of Florida's most distinctive communities, founded by aviation pioneer Glenn Hammond Curtiss during the 1920s Florida land boom. Visitors explore three rooms of exhibits chronicling Miami Springs' aviation history, the city's founding and growth, and the remarkable story of the Miami Battle Creek Sanitarium. The museum features interactive multimedia, artifacts, and memorabilia that document how Curtiss developed Country Club Estates as one of Florida's first planned communities and chose the Pueblo Revival architectural style as the city's distinctive theme. Exhibits explain how Eastern Air Lines' relocation to Miami in 1935 shaped the community's development, with the airline offering special pricing and financing on Miami Springs homes to its employees. General admission is free. The museum is located in Miami Springs, Florida, and features a small gift shop alongside its exhibits.
