About Bonnet House Museum & Gardens

Bonnet House Museum & Gardens features more than 3,000 orchid specimens across its 35-acre tropical sanctuary on Fort Lauderdale Beach. Visitors explore nature trails, four themed gardens, and five distinct ecosystems along a preserved barrier-island habitat. The estate preserves the 1920s artistic vision of Chicago painter Frederic Clay Bartlett and his wife Evelyn, whose murals, faux paintings, and easel work fill the main house and studio. Self-guided audio tours are available in five languages via mobile device with WiFi on-site, while guided house tours led by docents run on select days. Kayaking and paddle board adventures through Coconut Cove are offered through a partnership with Fort Lauderdale Adventures. Children age five and under receive free admission, and EBT cardholders with valid photo identification pay three dollars per person for up to four visitors.
