About Marshall Davis African Heritage Cultural Arts Center

The Marshall L. Davis, Sr. African Heritage Cultural Arts Center in Miami offers arts training and cultural programming for children ages 5 through 16 across multiple disciplines. Visitors attend classes in dance, drama, instrumental music, vocal music, media arts, visual arts, stage management, costume design, and cinematography. The center operates an After School Arts Academy combining academic support with multi-disciplinary arts education. Advanced students access the selective Apprenticeship Arts Program for professional development, while emerging artists participate in the Artist Residency Program. The center hosts performances and exhibitions throughout the year, with its theaters and studios available for events. Founded in 1975, the institution has educated acclaimed alumni including Oscar winner Tarell Alvin McCraney and former Alvin Ailey artistic director Robert Battle.
