About Mercer Labs

Mercer Labs is a museum of art and technology in downtown Manhattan where visitors step inside fifteen interconnected immersive rooms rather than viewing art from a distance. Each room is a distinct world featuring interactive installations that respond to a visitor's presence. The Window begins the journey beneath a monumental circular ceiling. The Map transforms masterpieces into cinematic worlds across 5,000 square feet using twenty-six laser projectors and 360-degree spatial sound. The 4DSOUND room surrounds visitors with omnidirectional speakers and vibrations as classical music becomes fully immersive. Volumetric displays feature holograms made from over 500,000 suspended points of light forming three-dimensional sculptures. The Infinite room shows iconic artworks multiplying across LED canvases and mirrors. The Cave offers a sanctuary with animated monkeys drifting through pink hydrangeas. Visitors can conduct robotic musicians with hand gestures and watch a robotic arm create sand masterpieces. The museum encourages participation through drawing projection and interactive artworks, designed for solo visitors, couples, and families. Located in New York, New York.
