About International Art Museum of America

The International Art Museum of America in San Francisco features 25,000 square feet of gallery space displaying hundreds of paintings and art pieces by world-renowned artists from Europe, America, and Asia, spanning from the 16th century to the present day. Visitors explore permanent and rotating exhibitions across multiple galleries while discovering distinctive spaces including an indoor garden grotto with a running waterfall, a fairytale hut, and Dragon Hall with a sealed Treasure Room. The museum offers tours and group visits, hosts art contests including the International Youth Art Contest and IAMA Live Youth Art Contest, and presents programs and art fairs throughout the year. Candlelight Concerts and gallery receptions provide additional experiences for members and visitors. General admission is free, and the museum is open Wednesday through Sunday. Located on Market Street between the Powell Street cable car terminal and the Civic Center, IAMA was named Best Museum and Best Art Gallery in SFGATE's Best of the Bay Area 2026.
