About Historic Mansker's Station

Historic Mansker's Station is an authentic reproduction of a frontier fort built by Kasper Mansker in the late 1700s. Visitors tour the reconstructed fort and the Bowen House, both located in Moss Wright Park in Goodlettsville. The station features a blacksmith shop and other period buildings that demonstrate eighteenth-century frontier life. Researchers and reenactors built the replica using authentic tools and methods from that era, making it one of the most accurate frontier fort representations in North America. The original 1779 station stood for only one year before being abandoned and burned during Creek and Chickamauga Indian attacks. Mansker returned in 1783 to build a second station, which inspired this 1988 reconstruction. A guided tour provides access to both the fort and the Bowen House, offering visitors a detailed look at how frontier settlers lived during this period.
