About Carter House

Carter House is a historic house museum in Franklin where visitors take guided tours through a restored 1830s farm that played a key role in Civil War history. The Classic House Tour is a 60-minute guided walk through the home itself. The All Men Are Created Equal Tour is a 90-minute exploration of the house and grounds that traces American history from the nation's founding through the Civil War, examining the struggle over equality and slavery. The Battlefield Tour is a 90-minute guided walk of the Franklin battlefield near the property. A combination ticket pairs a Carter House tour with Carnton, another local historic site. The Tennessee Campaign Ticket bundles three sites into a single 60-minute tour. Tickets are sold online through the venue's website. The museum charges admission and publishes multiple ticket prices for different tour options and age groups.
