About Gregg House Museum

Gregg House Museum offers hands-on educational programs where elementary students and scout groups explore local history and Victorian life. Visitors participate in the Excelsior Experience, an architecture program that teaches building design; Gregg's Mystery Gadgets, where children identify household items from the past; and the Victorian Tea Party, an immersive experience of 19th-century customs. Other offerings include Rural Westmont, exploring the area's early settlement, Optical Toys featuring zoetropes and kaleidoscopes, and Christmas at Gregg House celebrating historic holiday traditions. Scout groups can earn badges for local history knowledge. Programs are available both at the museum and as outreach visits to schools. The museum also hosts volunteer opportunities, including docent work, garden maintenance, and photo digitization. General admission is free. The museum is located in Westmont, Illinois.
