Galveston County Museum, located in the Galveston County Courthouse, explores the region's history through permanent and rotating exhibits. Visitors examine artifacts including the 1900 Storm Coroner's Book, the South Jetty Lighthouse Fresnel Lens, and displays on immigration and Native Americans of the Gulf Coast. The museum features a Corner Store Exhibit and a Gambling and Nightclubs Exhibit that document local life across different eras. Additional attractions include historical stereographs and exhibits covering the 1900 hurricane. The museum participates in the U.S. Lighthouse Society's Passport Program, and visitors can collect a passport stamp at the reception desk. The Padlock Mystery Game, an interactive puzzle activity, is available by appointment. Private tours may also be scheduled in advance. The museum suits history enthusiasts and families interested in Galveston County's past.
