About Colossal Cave Tour Center

Colossal Cave Mountain Park in Vail offers underground cave exploration and outdoor recreation in the Sonoran Desert. Visitors descend into miles of narrow passageways and large halls decorated with stalactites, stalagmites, and other limestone formations, where the air remains a cool 70 degrees. The Classic Cave Tour takes visitors through these subterranean passages on the hour. For those seeking greater challenge, the Ladder Tour provides a more adventurous experience navigating the cave system. Beyond the cavern, the mountain park supports hiking, biking, horseback riding, birding, camping, and stargazing. Trail rides range from half-hour to sunset excursions, with wagon rides available for groups and special events. The Terrace Café operates in a historic limestone building with views of saguaro cacti and distant mountains, offering lunch, local craft beer, and wine. The Cave Shop sells regional and Native American arts and crafts. Tickets for cave tours are sold online on the venue's site.
