About Tucson Desert Art Museum and Four Corners Gallery

The Tucson Desert Art Museum and Four Corners Gallery showcase art and artifacts from the Desert Southwest, helping visitors understand the region's history, cultures, and artistic traditions. The museum houses one of the Southwest's premier collections of Navajo and Hopi pre-1940s textiles, including chiefs' blankets, saddle blankets, optical art textiles, and Yei weavings. The collection also features classic and contemporary Southwestern paintings by artists such as Maynard Dixon, Thomas Moran, Albert Bierstadt, Gerald Cassidy, Ed Mell, and Ray Roberts, alongside diverse historical artifacts and pieces from the Mesoamerican period. Rotating special exhibitions change annually, offering experiences such as explorations of Navajo sand painting, Navajo dye-making, lowrider culture, and avian and animal art. Guided tours are available every Friday at noon, with customized group tours available upon request. The 25,000-square-foot facility on Tucson's Eastside offers panoramic views of the Catalina and Rincon mountains. The museum charges admission, with rates published on its website.
