Oracle State Park is a 4,000-acre wildlife refuge in the northern foothills of the Catalina Mountains that combines hiking, wildlife viewing, and stargazing. Visitors explore over 15 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, including a section of the Arizona Trail. The park functions as an International Dark Sky Park, hosting Star Parties where guests observe the night sky through astronomers' telescopes. The Kannally Ranch House, a 1930s Mediterranean-Revival mansion, stands on the grounds as a museum displaying period memorabilia and paintings. Oracle State Park also serves as a Center for Environmental Education, offering interactive programs for school groups along trails where students learn about habitat and relationships between plants, animals, and people. Geology tours and art programs occur seasonally. The park is located in Oracle, Arizona, and operates day-use picnic areas alongside its educational offerings.
