About Camp Gordon Johnston Museum

The Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum honors and preserves the heritage of the quarter million men and women who trained at this amphibious operations facility during World War II. Visitors explore extensive histories of the various units that trained here, along with photographic displays depicting life at the camp. The museum exhibits artifacts brought back from overseas battles, uniforms, mess kits, and numerous souvenirs contributed by Camp Gordon Johnston veterans. A recently completed capital expansion added exhibit space and conservation areas for these collections. The museum shares the real stories of dedication, fears, and heroism of service members who received amphibious training before deploying to Europe and the Pacific. Group tours and individual visits outside regular hours can be arranged by contacting the museum. School field trips, clubs, and other organizations are welcomed. The museum is located in Carrabelle, Florida, near Carrabelle Beach.
