About Crestview History Museum

The Crestview History Museum occupies the Bush House, a 1925 American craftsman-style home built for a Louisville and Nashville Railroad supervisor. Visitors walk through rooms furnished with original 1930s and 1940s furniture and explore exhibits featuring railroad tools and equipment, early 1900s newspapers, county and city administrative equipment, and the phonebooth from the second Okaloosa County courthouse. The house itself reveals its history through architectural details discovered during recent renovation, including repositioned bathrooms and staircases and closets lined in vintage floral wallpaper. An exhibit documents Crestview's nearly 35-year Sister Cities relationship with Noirmoutier, France, displaying materials about the island's agricultural industries. Artifacts also include Bob Sikes's hat and other objects illustrating the diversity of Crestview's past. The second floor houses offices for the Crestview Historic Preservation Board and the Crestview Area Sister City Program. Group and class tours are available. The museum is located in Crestview, Florida.
