Busse Forest Elk Pasture is one section of the 3,558-acre Ned Brown Preserve in Elk Grove Village, a diverse natural area featuring ancient upland forests and one of Cook County's largest fishing and boating waters. Visitors to the elk pasture observe the animals in their habitat within this expansive preserve. The broader Busse Woods complex offers nearly 13 miles of paved trails for hiking, walking, and bicycling, plus access to Busse Lake for boating and fishing. The Busse Lake Boating Center provides boat rentals and accessible canoe landings for water activities. Ice skating and cross-country skiing are available seasonally. Multiple picnic groves with shelters accommodate groups ranging from 100 to 350 people. Several groves offer accessible parking and bathroom facilities. On-leash dogs are permitted on trails. The preserve suits visitors interested in wildlife observation, outdoor recreation, and nature exploration.
