About Hidden Lake Forest Preserve

Hidden Lake Forest Preserve in Lombard spans 390 acres with two lakes and the East Branch DuPage River, offering hiking, fishing, boating, and picnicking. More than 2 miles of trails wind through the preserve, attracting hikers, joggers, birders, and wildlife watchers. Round Lake welcomes paddlers with canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards, subject to a Forest Preserve District permit. Anglers can fish Round Meadow Lake and Eagle Lake for bass, bluegill, crappie, channel catfish, green sunfish, carp, and black bullhead, or fish along the river. The preserve features dozens of picnic tables and grassy areas, with charcoal grills and hot-coal containers available. Groups can reserve a shelter accommodating 50 people. Visitors may hear spring peepers in wooded ponds and explore King's Grove, a remnant woodland of mature red, white, and bur oaks. Leashed dogs are permitted, and accessible restrooms are located at the main parking lot.
