The Rock Club is an indoor climbing gym in New Rochelle where visitors climb artificial rock walls using different techniques. Bouldering involves climbing shorter walls with padded floors underneath and requires no ropes or certification; climbers ages fourteen and older can start after a brief orientation. Top rope climbing uses harnesses and ropes, with a belayer controlling the line from the ground; the gym offers belay certification classes for those without experience. Lead climbing requires climbers to clip their rope into protection as they ascend, and all lead climbers must pass the facility's lead belay test.
