About The Mt. SAC - Randall Planetarium

The Mt. SAC – Randall Planetarium in Walnut offers visitors immersive shows about astronomy and space exploration under a domed theater ceiling. Guests view monthly planetarium presentations created with Digistar 6 projection technology and a Zeiss SKYMASTER ZKP4 star projector. School and scout groups participate in field trips that combine planetarium shows with hands-on rocket building and launching activities. The facility also operates a public observatory housed in a twenty-foot steel dome atop a nearby building, containing a sixteen-inch Meade telescope and smaller eight-inch and ten-inch telescopes. Free telescope viewing nights occur once monthly at the observatory, weather permitting. The planetarium, located in Building 26C on the Mt. San Antonio College campus, has been welcoming visitors since 1968. The venue includes wheelchair seating, listening assistance devices, and accessible elevators for visitors with mobility needs.
