The Covina Valley Historical Society operates two museums that document local history in Covina. The Heritage House, a fully furnished craftsman-style home built for a local pharmacist, was relocated to Covina Park in 1989 to preserve it from demolition. The house remains furnished as a snapshot of life at the turn of the last century. The Firehouse Jail Museum, erected in 1911, stands behind Covina City Hall in the historic downtown district. The museum displays local historical artifacts illustrating early rural life in the San Gabriel Valley. The jail portion houses thousands of documents and photographs, including vintage images by photographer CW Tucker that document the area's growth, as well as scrapbooks, early invoices, legal documents, and citrus records. These materials provide glimpses into the cultural and social life of the region. The building functioned as a municipal jail until 1974. Visitors can explore both exhibits to understand the heritage of Covina and the San Gabriel Valley.
