About The Historical Society of Mount Lebanon

The Historical Society of Mount Lebanon collects, preserves, and shares the history of this Pittsburgh suburb through exhibits, tours, and digital collections housed in its History Center at a Spanish Colonial Revival home built in the late 1920s or early 1930s. The current exhibit, Friday Night Lights, showcases pregame rituals, fan traditions, and the award-winning Blue Devil Marching Band's role in the community. Visitors can browse digitized photographs by category, explore house histories, and purchase National Historic District medallions for contributing properties. The society conducts walking and bus tours in spring, summer, and fall, including Commerce & Architecture, Saints & Stained Glass at local churches, and Graves & Goblins through Mount Lebanon Cemetery featuring graves of a congressman and Medal of Honor recipients. A partnership with Memory Lane Media allows visitors to digitize home movies and videos. General admission is free.
