SS Jeremiah O'Brien is the last unaltered Liberty Ship in existence and operates as a museum moored at Pier 35 in San Francisco, where visitors board a fully operational World War II cargo vessel and explore the entire ship from engine room to flying bridge. Built in 1943, the O'Brien made seven wartime voyages and eleven crossings of the English Channel during the D-Day invasion. After decades in the mothball fleet, volunteers restored her to seagoing condition, and she remains certified by the U.S. Coast Guard. Visitors can tour the working decks and mechanical spaces at their own pace. The museum also offers overnight programs where school groups, scouts, and families sleep aboard the historic ship on select weekends. The ship is open daily with published admission prices that vary by age and visitor type, including discounted rates for seniors, students, and active military personnel. The vessel is located on the North end of Pier 35 near The Embarcadero in San Francisco, California.
