The Rolling Meadows Historical Museum is a replica of the first ranch-style homes built in the community by founder Kimball Hill in 1953. Visitors walk through authentic period rooms filled with donated historical documents, photographs, and furnishings from the 1950s era, experiencing what life felt like inside an actual Rolling Meadows home from that time. The museum's Kimball Hill Family Educational Center features exhibits on the early development of Kimball Hill Homes, the city's founding, 1950s memorabilia, and displays covering segments of local history. Visitors encounter period kitchen appliances, vintage photographs of children playing near the Campbell Street water tower, images of the 1957 police department with its cars, the 1959 fire department rescue truck, and scenes of Fire Station 15. The museum also documents the historic community church and Jewel shopping center. Self-guided tour books are available, and groups can schedule appointments. Located in Rolling Meadows, the museum is handicap accessible with adjacent parking.
