About Popes Museum

Pope's Museum in Ochlocknee is an art-focused museum built within a historic rural residence created by Laura Pope Forester. Visitors take guided hour-long tours led by a personal docent through both the grounds and the home itself. The museum displays approximately 200 sculptures throughout the property, along with captivating murals and thought-provoking gardens. The exhibits celebrate women's possibilities and societal impact. Tours include access to the interior of the home, which serves as the art environment itself. The museum operates by appointment only, and reservations are required since the property also functions as an event venue. Onsite historic accommodations blend modern comforts with period charm for visitors wishing to stay overnight. The museum honors women veterans through special events and programs throughout the year.
