The Georgia Museum of Agriculture in Tifton preserves the agrarian history of 19th-century Southern Georgia through immersive exhibits and hands-on learning. Visitors explore a Historic Village with realistic representations of period businesses, workshops, and homes, then view dozens of exhibits in the Ford B. Spinks Exhibit Hall describing Georgia's agricultural commodities and regional inventors. The Langdale Nature Center features live tanks and wildlife displays showcasing local flora and fauna. The Country Store stocks locally grown preserves, American-made toys, and Georgia Grown products. On Saturdays, visitors can board the Vulcan steam locomotive, a 1917 engine built by Vulcan Iron Works, for rides in open-air wooden rail cars. A rotating Museum Gallery highlights local artists and craftspeople. Educational programs include interactive field trips where students participate in late 1800s daily activities, and the Destination Ag program connects children to agriculture and natural resources. The museum occupies 95 acres and hosts special seasonal events, demonstrations, and serves as a venue for meetings and celebrations.
