ABAC's Georgia Museum of Agriculture features the Vulcan steam locomotive #5, a 1917 steam-powered train that operates in regular service on Saturdays, pulling visitors through the museum's grounds in open-air wooden rail cars. The 95-acre site in Tifton preserves 19th-century Southern agrarian life through a Historic Village with realistic representations of period homes, businesses, and workshops. The Ford B. Spinks Exhibit Hall displays dozens of exhibits on Georgia's agricultural commodities and regional inventors, while a rotating Museum Gallery showcases local artists and craftspeople. The Langdale Nature Center offers hands-on learning through live tanks and specimens of South Georgia wildlife and flora. The Country Store stocks locally grown preserves, American-made toys, and Georgia Grown products. Interactive field trips allow students to participate in late-1800s daily activities, and seasonal special events emphasize turn-of-the-century community traditions. The museum welcomes more than 75,000 visitors annually through educational programs, special events, and venue rentals.
