About Pennsylvania Lumber Museum

The Pennsylvania Lumber Museum in Ulysses explores the history of logging in Pennsylvania's forests through indoor and outdoor exhibits. Visitors walk through the Visitors Center to see artifacts and panels in the Challenges & Choices exhibit, then explore outdoor displays including a historic Shay locomotive that families can climb into, a steam-powered circular sawmill demonstrated in operation, and the Bob & Dotty Webber log cabin. The Eastern Loggers model railroad and a CCC cabin with statue are also on the grounds. A separate Sustainable Forestry Trail winds through the surrounding woodland. The museum presents Pennsylvania's logging heritage and encourages visitors to become better stewards of the state's forests.
