About Nunley's Carousel

Nunley's Carousel is a restored 1912 carousel where visitors ride hand-carved horses and other animals on a working vintage ride. Originally built for Brooklyn's Golden City Park and later operated as Murphy's Carousel, the ride spent decades at Nunley's Amusement Park in Baldwin before Nassau County preserved it in 2009. The carousel is one of only three surviving examples crafted by the renowned Stein & Goldstein company. Now located on Museum Row in Garden City and operated by the Long Island Children's Museum in partnership with Nassau County, the carousel operates in a glass-enclosed, heated structure. Visitors of all ages can experience this piece of Long Island history by riding the carousel during published open hours. Tickets are sold online through the venue's website.
