Modernism Museum in Mount Dora showcases twentieth-century design through rotating exhibitions centered on art, craft, and innovative objects. Currently on view is Space Oddities: The Sequel, featuring over seventy-five Memphis design pieces, many from musician David Bowie's private collection. The exhibition brings together iconic works by design leaders including Ettore Sottsass, Michele De Lucchi, Nathalie DuPasquier, Shiro Kuramata, and Martine Bedin, presenting the largest gathering of Memphis objects ever displayed in an American museum. Visitors explore individual artist galleries within the exhibition, learning about each designer's contributions to the radical Memphis design movement that emerged in Milan during the nineteen-eighties. The museum also operates a shop and dining area on-site. The museum is open Thursday through Sunday and charges admission, with separate pricing for adults, seniors, students, and children.
